The Mountain View Los Altos Adult School is committed to serving adult learners who will gain the knowledge, skills, and proficiency necessary to achieve personal goals in employment, secondary education, and English language skills in order to become self-reliant and productive members of the community.

The GED Test Preparation Class at MVLAAS consists of individualized and group discussion. The subjects covered include: Language Arts (reading and writing), Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. A Pre-GED Test Preparation Class is also offered, designed for ESL advanced students and students whose first language is not English.

MVLAAS' Medical Assistant program prepares students to qualify for entry-level positions in private practices, group practices, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. The course combines classroom instruction with a lab practicum component. Students are required to complete 375 hours of theory/lab before taking the national certification test (NCCT) and then followed by 160 hours of externship, which provides students with the necessary practice and skills. After passing the NCCT test and upon completion of the externship, students are eligible to take the California Certifying Board of Medical Assistant (CCBMA) test.
